The free hot coco goes great with the pop-corn while you wait
I always begin my car shopping process online and come to a decision before stepping foot into a dealership. I review safety ratings, maintenance costs, and gas economy ahead of time so I come prepared, knowing all I need to do is a test drive some paperwork.
For the next several weeks, we made several calls, which were not returned in a timely manner, to track down the key and check. It turns out they were likely mailed to our previous home address. Finally, the missing check and key were tracked down and I made my fourth trip to Russ Darrow.
Awesome staff!! Doug in service is absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond, and it's always an easy enjoyable experience. Thanks for being so great.
Unfortunately, there was no apology for this mess. While the dealership staff were friendly, the overall incompetence was surprising and disappointing. I would not recommend buying a vehicle from Russ Darrow Green Bay.
I had much higher hopes when choosing to buy my new car from Russ Darrow Green Bay.
It took two extra trips to Green Bay, from out of town, to finish the vehicle purchase with Russ Darrow. On the second visit, when we intended to drive our new vehicle home, we called ahead of time to let them know we were coming to buy the car and that we would be there in 35 minutes. Without notifying us, they sold the vehicle to someone else while we were on our way. When we got there, they told us the "bad news" and said they could get us a similar model the next day (which we bought on our third visit). On our third visit, we learned our refund check from the trade-in and the second key were not immediately available that day and they would be mailed to us.
This is the place to buy your next used car. Service is superb and dependable; met with a smile the staff are always welcoming and reliable; even staying 45 minutes after closing to give my car an oil change when I needed it the most!
To start our salesman Zach didn’t know anything about the vehicle we were interested in. From the first day until the day of purchase every question we had, he had to run around finding managers to get the answer. I get that he might be new but he made this our worst experience in buying a car especially being our first time at Russ Darrow not wanting to go back. He really should have done more training or shadowing. We asked for a purchase agreement to take to our bank but they got us to TRY to finance through their banks, when approvals or denials came through Zach kept telling us we were approved and even knew the interest % but of course the final offer is printed and the numbers where way higher than what he was telling us he was being told by the guy talking to the banks. So we finally get our purchase agreement like we had asked and we let him know we will be purchasing Monday. The day comes and from exactly 9am on 11/27, I talk to him and ask why did they add a service contract of almost $2k to the vehicle without even asking or offering it?! The whole day all I’m trying to get is a final price without the extra $2k so that we can cut a check and pick up the vehicle. This took him 3 phone calls that I made and one back from him. Finally we set up a time (2pm) to pick up the vehicle and sign paperwork that I had asked to have ready to go for when we get there, what happens? We get there and he comes up with excuses that everyone is in a meeting and to print the paperwork it would be 10min. LIES. My husband ended up calling in to work since we drove together 20 min away, and then we were told there was 1 person ahead of us so we were next in line to sign paperwork. We left after 5pm!!! This was suppose to be an exciting day to make such a big purchase of over $20k for a vehicle that we have wanted for a long time and searched hard for. Turned out going to Russ Darrow was harder to get through to purchase it! Such a stressful experience and never want to go threw it again!
This Russ Darrow is perfect. I walked in the first day and Zach was extremely helpful and informational on any questions I had. Zach was very very nice, very apporachable but the second day when I worked with “Jimmy John” (actual: James John) he worked until close for me. I showed up At 3 and they close at 8 and when I got some unfortunate news on the car I originally came to see. He did his best and his hardest to find a car that worked for me and the bank. And he found the perfect one. He let me test drive, explained EVERYTHING to know about the car. He was so knowledgeable and passionate that I could tell he cared. He wasn’t what society labels “used car salesmen.” As. He cared and he kept working and working and I will forever be grateful for what he did for me and my family.
