My mother had a heart attack and if were not for a perceptive CNA (Chet) she would probably not be with us today. He noticed that she was a little grey in color and just was not herself. He took her vitals and her ox level was 79 which is extremely low. He then called me and the doctor and I was able to take swift action and get her to the ER. The interesting side note to all this is that my sister who is an RN was in town for a week and we had my mom out and about for the entire week and did not pick up on the warning signs, Chet did and I am forever greatful and thankful!
P.S. Eileen has even gone the extra mile of helping me coordinate benefits with medicaid and my Mom's limited long term care insurance - just another weight they have lifted from my shoulders.
I am saddened my Mother has not been treated properly, or with respect here. My Mother is being moved, I am afraid for her and her safety, she has fallen so many times I can't believe something wasn't broke. The bruising and contusions she received were terrible. Her hair was never combed, her dentures weren't even put in everyday, her hearing aid had never had her battery changed, or she didn't have it in. I can't tell you how many times she smelled like urine.I am a caregiver, I cared for my mom for 3 months before we brought her there. I treated her like a princess gave her what she needed, and a lot of TLC. She was put in a wheel chair almost immediately, without any exercise of walking at all. She is sitting constantly mostly off by herself. I could go on, but if you are considering using them, think again, spend some time visiting , beware of where you choose to place your Loved one. And when you do pay attention. New management indeed, they don't know how to return phone calls.
Worst place to work I got fired over stuff that didn't happen because the supervisors didn't like me the minute I walked through the door the management didn't even let me explain that I was bullied etc its a terrible place to work. You have to watch your back or youll be gone. I liked it there so it was hard to deal withThe residents are great though I miss them. I really wish I didn't have to give a report like this but if its not heard it may not get fixed. It is a nice place though the other residents were so sweet to me. Its very clean but the some of the cnas aren't very nice to their other co workers
My 83 year old Mother suffers from advanced alzheimers disease, and we simply could no longer manage her care at home. I toured a number of assisted living facilities in the Green Bay area, and Wyndemere met our criteria best out of all of them. From Eileen English, the administrator on-site, down to the maintenance staff, everyone on-site has been caring and compassionate with our Mother and the other residents. The food is top-notch, and I'm actually sorry that we didn't get Mom here sooner. She is socialized with others in her condition, and they know how to get her to eat right and take regulars showers/baths - something we struggles with at home. She is in the 'Aspen' house, and that facility is built with a sizable courtyard that the residents have free access to in the warmer months, and Mom LOVES to sit outside - that was a HUGE selling point! Additionally, not long after Mom moved-in, so did a four-legged resident named 'TANK' - he's a beautiful little rescue dog that brings joy to all who meet him. I could go on and on; however, let me end with - Wyndemere is the place for your loved one if you want peace of mind and quality care!
I worked here when Randy was the owner. I loved the residents but some of the CNAs were not pleasant to work with at all, no teamwork and always gossip, when I brought this to the managements attention, nothing was done to fix it. I am still in contact with some old coworkers there and heard the new management that has taken over is bringing Wyndemere down hill, they are loosing good workers due to poor management.
All of the caregivers at Wyndemere have been very loving, kind and considerate to my mother. When she got back from spending a week in the hospital, the staff were all telling her how much they missed her and there were many hugs. The cook in the kitchen started crying because she thiught she would not ever see mom again. Wyndemere is a loving environment with loving, caring people.
